Experience

Following an initial career in the TV/AV and alarm industries, Guy graduated from Plymouth University, U.K. in 1994 with a first class Honours Degree in Electronic Engineering. Guy subsequently spent five years as a customer support and development engineer for a semiconductor equipment manufacturer. During this time he worked alongside several large semiconductor companies in Germany, Israel and Japan.

In 1999 Guy joined the UK Patent Office as an Associate Patent Examiner within the Electrical Division, following which he joined a London patent attorney firm in 2000 to train as a UK and European Patent Attorney. In 2006 Guy joined Ellis Terry in Wellington, New Zealand. After a brief period back in the UK, he is now based in Sydney, Australia.

Guy has worked in various technological areas such as electronics, nanotechnology, telecoms and networks, as well as various software implemented technologies.

Guy is a registered patent attorney in Australia, New Zealand and the UK. He is also a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys in the UK (CIPA). He has also qualified as a European Patent Attorney.
